The sleek dining room at the Hotel Renaissance exudes a modernist sensibility blended with a Newport mansion drawing room theme. Design inspiration arises from the existing architecture of the Masonic Temple and its Rhode Island Capital Statehouse neighbor.  Chef Willis Stepp takes pride in working from scratch and seeks out the finest local produce and proteins for his creative and approachable interpretations of globally influenced American fare – “food for the people”. CAV is quirky, artsy, and youthful while retaining a touch of class in places that count — truly a Renaissance success story.  The restaurant has received national appreciation from such publications as the New York Times and Bon Appetit, which declared it to be a unique experience between Boston and New York. This is fusion cuisine with smarts and charm, not just with ingredients thrown together because the combination is trendy. A Providence Gem. Matunuck Oyster Bar is committed to uniting fresh, locally grown produce with farm-raised and wild-caught seafood to make the freshest dishes you’ll find anywhere. Many herbs and vegetables are grown on site. Chef Jeff Cruff, takes the bounty of fresh local ingredients and combines them to make mouth-watering dishes.
